Error Receiving Messages

We seem to be having more problems than usual since we upgraded to 2.70. The latest involves Bayesian filtering. Incoming messages scoring higher than the spam threshold (we have set to 60%) get returned with the following message:

5.1.0 - Unknown address error 554-'Delivery failed: '

I am going to try re-creating the spam filter's database, but any other possible solutions would be welcomed.

Regards,

Cameron

This error isn't from Ability Mail Server. Therefore, it has nothing to do with SPAM filtering which only affects incoming mail from other sources. This is most likely an outgoing mail that the destination server simply refused to accept for what looks like the address being sent to not existing on their mail server.

This problem turned out to be a misconfiguration on our part. We occasionally have a problem with AMS losing it's spam settings (happens maybe two or three times per year) and on one recent occasion when we were putting the settings back in place we had mistakenly ticked the box that says "refuse mail with message" instead of "set spam flag", so any message that exceeded the spam threshold was being refused.

Thanks for the response.

Glad you got sorted out. Sorry to hear you have lost your settings before. I would recommend making a backup of these so they can be more easily restored in future.
