AMS 3 With Two Server Cluster Not Working

AMS 3 With Two Server Cluster Not Working

Postby cristo369 » Sat Nov 10, 2012 3:42 am

I recently tried to upgrade to AMS3. I had an issue where the net share could not be read. I kept on getting the error "accounts directory not found." But I am able to run AMS 2.7 no problems.
I have both versions installed (only running one at any given time.) Has anybody been able to setup clustering with AMS 3?

Make sure that the AMS 3 service is running as an administrator account on that machine otherwise it won't have permission to access network folders.

The AMS 3 service is running under an Admin account and the user is also registered with the network share.

Try copy and pasting the accounts path into Windows Explorer while logged in with the account that the service is using just to make sure. Also, are you sure it's in NT service mode at the time and not in the application mode?

Sorry for the late response, end of year is a marathon for me. This is the setup with updated results

Server 1(Primary): Works Okay, this is where the Network-share is located.....(Oh by the way, this is running NT Mode with default login)
Server 2(Backup):
Application Mode, works can access share and bind to ports
NT Mode with default login: can not access network share, but is able to bind to ports (which
NT Mode with admin login: server times out. so I can not access remote admin web interface. but the netstat command in windows show that amsmain.exe is listening on the correct ports.

When I switch back to Application Mode, and access the logs I only see the following errors in the servicelog, all other logs do not display any errors.. also no helpful info in windows event viewer

Sat, 01 Dec 2012 15:06:42 -> Main - #ERROR - Unable to create status dialog.

I am at a loss for words, the config on both servers are Identical when it was AMS2. How can I isolate the problem (windows or ams)

If it's working in application mode under the logged in admin user then setting the service to run under that same user should have the same rights and be able to access the network drive ok.

Could you give more details? Is this from the logs or an error when launching the admin interface in application mode, or just the status error shown when editing the settings?
