Password Enforcement

Password Enforcement

Postby Willy92 » Wed May 14, 2014 11:41 pm

Hey there,

Just asking to make sure I haven't missed a setting somewhere.

Does Ability Mail Server (any version) support password complexity enforcement? I've recently had a few clients with compromised accounts, simply due to password such as "abc" or "password". This has cost me a ton of hours of work getting un-blacklisted and getting my reputation back up. I'm writing a script right now to compare the encrypted variations of simple password like "abc" and "password" to what's stored in the users.ini file so I can email any users with these passwords to get them changed, but it would be nice to see some kind of password complexity enforcement (ie: minimum 8 characters, must have a capital letter, etc) to stop people from having these ridiculously insecure passwords.

Thanks!

There isn't anything in the current version but we'll look at adding something to a future release.
