Hello

Is there a way to increase the re-transmission time on the server? I have a client who is trying to get email but the sender keeps getting back (after 3 days) the following:

From: Mail Delivery System <noreply@cisco.com>
Sent: Thursday, May 16, 2019 1:19 PM
To: XXXXXXXXXXXXX
Subject: Undeliverable: PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY SCHOOLS

The following message to <XXXXXXXXXXXXX> was undeliverable.
The reason for the problem:
5.4.7 - Delivery expired (message too old) [Default] 'Server Response Too Long'

The Xs are the email address of the receiver. This being from a cisco, I thought we maybe able to increase the time of delivery.

PS They are only getting this from one sender.

Thanks

You can control the Queue Lifetime and Resend Delay of Outgoing Mail messages. The lifetime is how long delivery will keep trying and resend delay is how often to retry delivery.

So there is nothing I can do on my end to solve the problem, no change I can make to my server.

The options I mentioned allow Ability Mail Server to retry failed deliveries in Outgoing Mails for longer. The error given though is from another email server so obviously that may be out of your control.
