IMAP access is disabled for this account

I enabled imap but i am unable to log on to the server even via local outlook express profile on the server itself.The error i get is "imap access is disblaed for this account" I am trying to test the imap function but i dont see it working evening locally on the server itself ??? please all help would be appriciated.

This sounds like your group options have disabled IMAP4 access on that particular user. To fix this, simply access the group settings of the that user (by default this is <Default>) and set the access rights to allow IMAP4 access.
