Hi all
Under transaction delays in version 2.60, you can specify the amount of seconds to delay the following responses below, would a 3 second delay on each be effective against spam?
On Connect
HELO / EHLO Command
MAIL FROM Command
RCPT TO Command

We have just changed the default values for version 2.61 SPAM filter wizard to:
Low - off
Medium (Recommended) - 0, 0, 10, 10
High - 2, 2, 20, 20
The first 2 values are before users login which is why they should be quite low. The last 2 occur after authenticated users will have logged in and potentially avoid SPAM filtering by either SPAM relaying exemption or SPAM white listing. Using 2 or 3 seconds for all would work fine. You have to be careful not to put high values that annoy customers waiting for their client to respond becase of the SMTP delays. Very busy servers may even need to disable Transaction Delays altogether if traffic builds up too much.
