Internet Explorer 7 Default FTP View

Internet Explorer 7 Default FTP View

Postby jloberg » Tue Mar 11, 2008 1:35 pm

I am not sure that there is a solution, but we are implimenting Ability FTP Server and managment wants the clients to go into the 'Icon' based view by default.

As of now when we connect to the FTP site it comes up with the traditional Unix Directory listing. They do not want that. Does anyone know of a way to force it to start in the Windows look and feel compared to the Unix Directory approach.

Thank You,
Jerry

I'm afraid that this display is controlled entirely by Internet Explorer and has nothing to do with the information sent from our FTP server. There may be some customizable options within Internet Explorer to help change the display to be more to your liking via the Tools - Internet Options dialog availabe from the menus. Alternatively, you may want to consider other browsers / FTP clients that are more to your layout preferences.
