Future of FTP

Folks,

Not that most folks aside from more private channels are using public-facing unencrypted FTP at this point (or shouldn't), but just wondering what the future of AFS is as far as protocol support. Not that web browser support of FTP is necessary at all (I use FileZilla most often), but I'm wondering about SFTP / MFT support for the future? We don't have much need for public-facing FTP anymore (mostly it's for additional offsite backups) but would an AFS version 4 include them?

Ability FTP Server will continue to be supported. We may consider implementing SFTP (SSH) but this is a major update so would be a version 4 if and when we do this. MFT is something we'd have to explore after that as a potential option.
