data into a database

data into a database

It would really be nice if emails could be stored in a database instead of the filesystem like they are now. At the very least let the headers be stored in a database with appropriate fields. The users in the database is a good start, but having other things stored there would be even better.

Version 3 does intend to greatly extend storage into the database. Presently the design doesn't include actual emails (as file systems better suite storage of file data), but pretty much everything else is. This means there will be no INI system in Version 3, it will be all SQL based database storage. Of course by standard we will ship a small database implementation to ensure users who don't wish to setup databases can run the software without any database orientated configuration.
