Different Maximum Mail Sizes

Different Maximum Mail Sizes

Postby m1byo » Tue Dec 23, 2008 6:04 pm

Hello,

I know you can limit the maximum mail size for a group, however it would be brilliant to be able to define maximum mail size for:

1. Static Routes / Default Route for Emails so larger emails could be routed through a different server or relay service.
2. Each Domain - This would be good for a backup mail service where you can limit the maximum size per email.

Thanks very much in advance and have a great christmas

There is no limit on the outgoing mail size. However, the general max mail size does govern how large mails coming into the mail server are allowed to be. If you wanted a domain to have a max mail size limit you can achieve this by simply putting the users for that domain in a set group. However, for backup domains mail is usually forwarded to the outgoing mail queue for external delivery and therefore only ever hits the general max mail size limit and is not affected by any group limits unless delivered locally to users stored on Ability Mail Server.

Hope you have a great Christmas and a happy new year too.
