Mailing List Unsubscribe doesnt work

I have previously posted a suggestion about not making the UNSUBSCRIBE case sensitive as the system was not responding to the unsubscribe. viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1980&p=3153&hilit=Unsubscribe#p3153

It seems that it may not be a case sensitive issue after all.

I have an example of an email sent to the mailing list which has the exact format UNSUBSCRIBE included in the subject but it did not unsubscribe the user.

Any Ideas?

If an unsubscribe attempt failed this can often be put down to spam filtering preventing the mail reaching the mailing list (or antivirus/content filtering). I would recommend tracing the mail through the logs to see if this is the case. If you would like my opinon, please send the logs to rob@code-crafters.com.

Hello Rob,

My initial thoughts are that the email did not get filtered by the spam / AV as it was redistrubted to everyone on the list.

If the email is not blank does that have an effect on the unsubscribe function?

I will try and dig out the appropriate logfiles in the mean time as well.

The body of the email is ignored in all mailing list trigger emails, only the SMTP envelope from, the subject and the to address are processed. Hopefully the logs will reveal the cause.
