Webmail shows Not Secure triangle

Postby skeating » Wed Nov 28, 2018 6:01 pm

Hello

I have a valid SSL for my Ability Mail server, but when I go to the https://X.X.X.X:8100 web site, the URL field says Not Secure. Is there something I must do in the IIS for this?

I did the following to generate the SSL cert:
1. Created a CSR and key on the Ability Mail Server
2. Uploaded the CSR to GoDaddy and generated an SSL cert
3. Combined the two SSL certs that I got from GoDaddy, pasting the group cert into the root cert.
4. Imported the SSl cert into the Ability Mail Server
5. Restarted the server.

You need to make sure:

1. You've selected the SSL certificate in the domain bindings of IIS.
2. The SSL certificate common name exactly matches the domain you're accessing on (not an IP) otherwise the certificate won't be enforced.

Note that with Ability Mail Server 4, you can also host your static files on IIS using port 80 / 443 so you don't need the port suffix :8100 and still have the API calls going to Ability on 8000 / 8100 or whatever you want. Ability will update your config.json in the WebMail template directory to make sure the API requests got to Ability still.
