AMS Servcice Crash

AMS Servcice Crash

Postby m1byo » Tue Jul 22, 2008 11:23 am

Hello,

I am getting the following error message in the event log of the server running AMS:

"The Ability Mail Server 2 service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s)." (this was at 01:33 Sunday Morning)

When I manually go to restart AMS I get the following error messages on the first time I try to restart:
"Timeout (120000 milliseconds) waiting for the Ability Mail Server 2 service to connect."
"The Ability Mail Server 2 service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion."

When I try to restart again, AMS starts without a problem. Normally on boot, AMS has no problem at all.

I have looked through the logs in AMS and I have only found the following in the service log which is related to the crash at all:
Viewing File: servicelog.txt
Description: Server Log File

Just a little addition to my log comments.

I did not find any entries in the logs for anything within 10 minutes of the crash occuring.

I do not have the log caching turned on.

Thanks very much

Sorry to hear about the instability issue. Although you probably already have it, I would recommend ensuring you are running the latest version of the software. However, if this isn't the case then what I would recommend is that if you could send me yoru logs which cover a couple of these crashes to rob@code-crafters.com (making a note of the times when the crash occured). Hopefully the logs will contain something useful which will help point towards the cause of this.
