IMAP

Postby m1byo » Tue Feb 05, 2008 7:11 pm

Hello,

I am getting the following error on my IMAP connection to AMS using microsoft outlook:

"Your Server reported a UID that does not comply with the IMAP standard. this typically indicates a server bug. your program may not function properly after this"

Detailed information is:
MsgSeqNum 18, New UID 37588. Prev UID: 0, Next UID: 37588.
Protocol: IMAP
Server: imap.x.x
Port: 993
Error Code: 0x800CCCDC

This has only started happening after I restored an exported backup of AMS to my server.

any ideas?

Thanks very much

Ian

The mail UID is used by mail clients like outlook so that they can improve their performance by knowing "I've downloaded all mail UIDs up to X, so I only have to download ones after that now". However, if you change the UID data in an account by a backup outlook then throws a paddy as it doesn't get what it expects from the account. To resolve the issue, you should be able to simply remove and re-add the outlook account to resynhronise with the Ability Mail Server account properly.
