Unable to connect to the destination SMTP

Unable to connect to the destination SMTP

Postby charlesindia » Mon Dec 27, 2010 7:30 am

Hi,
I am using AMS in Windows 2008, I have set the thread size to 1000.
Sometimes the server responds with "Unable to connect to the destination SMTP"
This occurs when the mailbox exists locally. How can I avoid this, Kindly suggest

There could be a couple reasons for this. The first is the SMTP server is busy and as no available connections available, which would mean there is a reason behind the excessive traffic. The next cause is that even though the account is local, the mail server is trying to send the mail out. I would recomend checking your configuration and tracing your delivery through the logs to find out why this could be occuring. IF you have more than one mail server in your setup, then that is the most liekly reaosn, but with a single mail server, it could be possible that your mail is passing through some other layer of SMTP software (antivirus, spam, or firewall filter).
