My first thought would be that you would need to be hosting the domain in one sense to be able to receive the emails into the mailing list in the first place. Even if that domain actually is a domain which is just a pop3 retreival.
If you are only sending emails out on the mailing list, then this could always just be one of your currently hosted domains which you can then change the mailiing list to look like it is coming from another email address / domain if it suits your need in the following configuration bits for each mailinglist.
"Change Reply-To Address To:"
"Change From Address To:"
You do need to make sure the domain SPF record is appropriately configured for you to send emails from that address.
This is what I have done with a couple of mailing lists which are purely for messages to be sent from rather than a discussion system
