Losing SPF and Bayesian Settings

Losing SPF and Bayesian Settings

Postby cearnshaw » Fri Aug 08, 2008 11:54 pm

Hi,

I've now had it happen on three separate occasions where the "enable SPF" settings, the Bayesian database min/max size settings and the SPF failure/permerror settings have disappeared from AMS. I have to go in and put the entries back in. When this happens we of course get slammed with spam until I fix it. Any idea what might be causing this?

Thanks,

Cameron

Sorry for any inconvience caused by this but this isn't something we have had reported before. The settings are stored within the smtp.ini and so its possible that either something is editing this file externally, or something is preventing the mail server from correctly loading settings from this file. If this occurs again, I would recommend looking at the smtp.ini to see if the settings within there match up with the settings in the interface (its a list of value pairs and should be reasonable straight forward to deduce which settings mean what). I would of course also recommend running a hard drive scan to ensure that there are no issues on the hard drive.
