Automatically activate auto-signup account/strict period

Automatically activate auto-signup account/strict period

Postby Pugglewuggle » Wed Sep 26, 2007 7:32 am

Is there any way to have AMS automatically activate an auto signup account that has been cloned from an inactive user? Right now, when a user signs up, the mail server admin has to go and manually enable the user's account. This can be very annoying when using on an intranet...

Also, is there a way to limit a user's number of sends/similar mails for a period of time after they initially sign up? This would be good to combat spammer signups.

Currently there isn't way but I believe the cloning system was intended to work from 'enabled' users. I assume you disable the cloning source as so it doesn't receive email? If so perhaps you could place it in a group that pretty much disables everything, then ensure that new sign ups are placed in a different but active group. Although automating a restriction of mail sending on new users is not possible, this group for new sign ups could actually be a restricted group with mail sending permissions. Then after a period of time, you could manually move the users over to the full permissions group.
