Blocked IPs

Blocked IPs

Postby leebe » Thu Jun 26, 2008 3:45 pm

Hi there,

Id like to add Blocked IPs globally, is there any way to do that?

at the minute I have to manually add an ip (one at a time!) to each service that I am using (pop3, smtp, webmail etc)

I'm sure there must be an easier way to do it.

Regards

Unfortunately there is currently no central IP block list, although I will certainlly pass this along to the rest of the team as a suggestion. In the meantime this does mean that you will need to edit each service individually. I believe in the past we chose not to implement a central IP block list due to generally difference between the SMTP and other services (the SMTP would block one set of IP addresses, where the other services would be restricted to a certain range of IP addresses).

Consider using a router that can block an IP range on a single port or all ports. I am using a LinkSys RV042 - it handles this function, very well.
