Spam Filter before forward

Spam Filter before forward

Postby closerealty » Wed Jul 16, 2008 8:38 pm

When messages arrive they are auto-forwarded to auto-forward email addresses before the spam ones are put into the junk folder. Causing problems because mail servers receiving forwarded emails are blocking email thinking we are spamming them. Is this a bug in the software? or am I missing a setting?

If you have set to forward emails via content filtering or user redirections, this by default applies to all mail. You can however set up a content filter rule to send mails marked as SPAM to a different email address (e.g. spam@yourdomain.com) to avoid these ones being auto-forwarded.

This isn't a bug its just the way that redirections work; they redirect all mail for that user other email addresses with the option of still delivering locally as well. However, if you follow my previous instructions you can make an exception to the forwarding for SPAM mails.
