Spam Filter, Grey list safe IP

Spam Filter, Grey list safe IP

Postby charlesindia » Thu Dec 03, 2009 2:06 pm

I have been using Ability Mail Server for the past 2 years.
Everything is working fine and I found it as one of the best I have come around.
My question is reg Spam Filter
I have enabled Grey list with the follow settings,
Temp Fail Time as 3 Min, Temp Allow Time as 180 Min and I have enabled Grey list Safe IP with the following Host *.google.com, google.com, gmail.com and *.gmail.com
I have used * since gmail comes like this mail-pw0-f55.google.com
But still it is getting blocked for some times. Kindly let me what to do to add Safe Host like this mail-pw0-f55.google.com

Sample:
Thu, 03 Dec 2009 18:20:42 -> 209.85.160.55 -> Success: Action=[Received Hello], Details=[Host=mail-pw0-f55.google.com]
Thu, 03 Dec 2009 18:20:42 -> 209.85.160.55 -> Success: Action=[Received Sender], Details=[suseetatatvl+caf_=mail=susee.org@gmail.com]
Thu, 03 Dec 2009 18:20:43 -> 209.85.160.55 -> Failed: Action=[Received Recipient], Details=[mail@susee.org: Grey List temp fail.]
Thu, 03 Dec 2009 18:20:43 -> 209.85.160.55 -> Success: Action=[Close Connection]

You cannot use *s with a IP of Host / Domain match type as it needs to compare to an actual IP which is why this is failing. However, you can use *s with the Grey List Safe IP: Reverse IP Lookups match type and also on the Sender / Recipients match types in the overall SPAM White Listing.
