Crash on Windows Server 2008 R2 - ODBC

Postby Pugglewuggle » Sun Mar 28, 2010 8:39 pm

Hi guys,

I've been trying to migrate AMS to Windows Server 2008 R2 for the last week on 3 separate installs; all 64-bit. AMS Cannot seem to connect to ANY ODBC sources, no matter what; It crashes with an access violation error:

Error: Access violation at 0x74066CCB (tried to read from 0x00000095), program terminated.

Any ideas what in the world is going on?

Thanks!

Disable ODBC via the general setting INI file then load up the software, select ODBC then use the Test Database button to see if this test triggers a crash. If it does then it very likely is something to do with ODBC; either a problem with the driver or more likely with AMS. I'd normally recommend reinstalling to fix any corrupt file but it sounds like you've done that already. Perform the test I said and let me know the feed back and any other details needed to trigger the bug and I'll try to resimulate and fix the problem here.

Hi Chris,

When I click Test ODBC it does indeed trigger a crash.

I look forward to hearing any possible solutions.

Thanks

Please send me your mailserver.ini file and as much detail as possible about your windows version, database and version, ODBC driver and anything else related to the database connection as you can think of to chris@code-crafters.com. If I can reproduce the crash I can debug and hopefully fix it. Also, check your server logs for any ODBC errors on initialise and send me any relevant logs too if possible.
