redirect 8000 to 423

redirect 8000 to 423

Postby johnmarcel » Wed Jul 24, 2013 6:14 am

I have a small issue. all of my clients that use my email use the web address http://mail.site.com:8000 is their a way in which they can still use that same web address but be redirected to port 423. I really do not want to send out an email to 2000 people saying they have to change the way they login.

Ability won't bind to multiple ports on same service.

Pretty easy to fix though......change Code Crafters webmail to port 423. Run a simple web server on port 8000.....maybe LightTpd with a redirect to 423.

We are planning to add true multi-port hosting like we have already with our FTP server to the mail server. However, for now you can only listen on one port. As Phil said, the easiest way is to run IIS or other web server on port 8000 and redirect to AMS on port 423 or if your router can forward multiple ports to a single port on AMS internally then that would be easier. However, if you're not already hosting any web server on that Internet IP, it would be much better to just use https default port 80 then you can access via http://mail.site.com without any port specified.
