Creating a pst file

Creating a pst file

Postby skeating » Mon May 01, 2017 1:54 pm

I need to move some email from an Ability account to an Exchange server. Is there a way to create a pst file, or a way to import the messages from the Ability account to the Exchange server.

Thanks

The only real way is via IMAP4 accounts on each server. Exchange may have an IMAP4 import tool or similar.

I've done this many times, just use Outlook, create an account for the ability account using IMAP, let it sync all the mail down and then do a export to backup.pst file which is located in Outlook under File, Open.

You could create an IMAP to the Exchange server too, and then copy straight from one to the other, best not to though as Outlook is prone to fouling this up.

Thanks for the suggestion Steve.

That would be better than using IMAP4 which can fail copying large amounts of emails as you said.

Is there a similar solution that you have tried for migrating from Exchange to Ability Mail Server?
