Webmail error messages

Webmail error messages

Postby Adrian » Thu Dec 27, 2007 7:16 pm

As we're working on the customization of the webmail templates, we noticed that there are certain error messages that we can't finad, and we'd like to know if they're indeed inside the application (and unreachable for us to translate) or if they can be found somewhere.

Some examples are "The common/nick name already exists", "Please provide a word or phrase", "No 'to' addresses provided, illegal mail".

Thanks for your help.

Unfortunatly at present these error messages cannot be modified and built into the software. In the future we plan to give full customization options of such error messages, but we have no date for this update as of yet.

OK, Rob, I understand.

I'm thinking about a possible solution. If you could send me the complete list of error messages, I could create a JavaScript function or something to replace the contents of the error messages with my own customizated response.

Do you think this is possible? I insist on this matter because most of our users wouldn't understand those error messages in English.

Thanks again!

That might indeed work. At present most error messages are displayed with the page _error.html and also with the tag ####ERRORMSG####. However, at present we do not have a list of the available error messages as these are dispersed through the code. However, I have tried to collect as many as I could directly out of the source (there are probably more)...
