Postby waterman34 » Sat Dec 29, 2007 11:31 am

Hi Guys

Just wanted to check that our current configurations and settings wouldn't be changed or affected when upgrading from 2.60 to 2.61?

Our install of AMS is running really peachy at the moment so don't wont to lose or change any configurations so wanted to check with you guys before we upgrade.

Updating to the latest version should ensure all settings and accounts remain perfectly safe. However, we do recommend that you take this opportunity to perform a backup.

My current version is 2.54 and I want to update to 2.61. Should I be concerned about updating through so many revisions at once? Also, this is my first time updating, is there a best practice procedure I should follow? How long will it take for the update to be applied? How long will my server be down?

Thanks for your help with my newbee questions!

The update works the same regardless of the number of versions inbetween, and also your settings will still remain safe (although a backup is recommended again). The process is simple, access the help dialog of the main status dialog, and hit the update button. This will download the latest version, then close the software, follow the installation wizard and your mail server should be up and running within a minute. I should note that you will need to manually switch back to NT service.

Rob,

Thanks for the help! I successfully updated my server last night. I'm thoroughly impressed with how easy it was!

Thanks again,
