Batch deleting users

Batch deleting users

Postby HVGS » Wed Jan 30, 2008 6:09 am

We are a K-12 school and have over 1100 accounts on our Ability Mail server. We add/delete over 200 accounts each year with students coming and going.

The import from CSV works great for adding a heap of new users in.

But is there a way to delete a heap of users and their message stores ?

Would hacking the users.ini and deleting the user folders under accounts be an option ?

Thanks,
Phil

Presently ther only way this can be done is to click on the Users section in the admin interface, select the appropaite domain, then CTRL click all the users you want to delete. This will highlight the specific users which will then allow you to do a batch deletion on these. However, editing the users.ini and deleteing the account directories will also work just as well.

Thanks,

Just wrote a program to rewrite the users.ini file (less the users you want to delete) and also delete their account folders. Worked fine.
Needed to delete about 150 so selecting them in the gui would be too fiddly.
