File store access

Postby sillyme » Wed Sep 19, 2007 3:56 pm

Is there a way for a user to add a link to an outgoing email so the reciepient can download a large file from the file store without creating ftp accounts?

Thanks

No, file stores are personal file storage areas accessible by that user's WebMail interface only. They are intended for storing files that you regularly attach to your emails or just files that you want to store for access from your email account later. You should consider purchasing Ability FTP Server for achieving what you have asked.

It is just the users find it so easier to upload files using the mail interface than an ftp program. I know, not much difference but these are end users.

Maybe you could make a web interface for the ftp program like the mails file store?

We are currently working on Ability Mail Server 3 due out next year. Following that release, we are aiming to simultaneously work on relasing Ability FTP Server 2 and a new FTP client. Many new things will appear in Ability FTP Server 2 from the current Ability Mail Server 3 technologies. Hopefully, our new FTP client will be easy enough for most customers to use. We are also considering building a web based client as part of either the new FTP client or Ability FTP Server 2.
