File Store Folders

I have discussed this via email before and posted this before but cannot find the thread.

Can we get an option to create additional folders in the file store? Having to store all files in one folder is kind of a pain. I was told it would be an upcoming addition and am wondering what the status is.

Folders within the filestore are still in our plan but presently a low priority update, but I will see if I can give this a push for you. Its difficult to say when you could expect this to be released but I suspect it may not be until version 3 which is still under heavy development and possibly not due to later this year.

I can do that. As long as it comes in version 3 and I don't have to pay an arm and leg for it.

Do you have any ideas on how much you will ask for the upgrade in US dollars?

I have the unlimited enterprize edition.

At the moment we do not know the price but I would guess it will be in the range of $60-$80 for an upgrade license.

I am still seriously hoping this comes out in version 3 whenever it hits the market.

Version will probably be next year, I should note that this feature isn't likely to be in the initial release of version 3, but of course it is still on our list of updates and so may be released in one of the many 3.xx updates.

I'm sorry to hear this is not planned or may not even happen.

I'll have my eyes peeled for something else. I do like this software but I have to make my people happy.

Unfortunately file store folders haven't made an appearance in version 2011. I should note that over the coming years we plan to radically change the software by adding support for complete database support, a new clustering system, historical monitoring and some large changes to how some services work. Also, I can mention that file store folders have already had some ground work done which 'should' see this addition at a later date.
